Working mechanism of the heat pumps

The heat pump is an electrical device. The gadget executes heat extraction from one center and transfers the heat to another place. It’s not at all any new technology. For decades, the gadget has been in use at different parts of the world. Even the air conditioners and the refrigerators use the common technology for its working. As it has been in use for years, its evident that the working mechanism involves a simple heat exchange technique cleverly. The pumps transfer the heat through the circulation of a substance called the refrigerant.

Circulation method

The refrigerant goes through an evaporation and condensation cycle. There is a compressor that helps in pumping the coolant through the gap between the two exchanger coils. In one of the coil, evaporation of the refrigerant takes place under low pressure. The refrigerant absorbs the heat from the surroundings. Then the refrigerant undergoes compression while moving into the other coil. There, it condenses under high pressure. Here, it releases the heat it has absorbed earlier during the circulation. Thus you can understand the basic working principle of the heat pumps is the same as that of the air conditioners.

Pricing depends on the quality

The cycle of the heat pump is reversible on the requirement. The pumps generally provide climate control for your house all-round the year. The pumps heat up during winter and provide cooling during summer. It also performs the dehumidifying function. As the heat pump supplies the warmth to the house even during the cold days of winter, the heat pump prices are higher. The reason for such provision is the capacity of the air and the ground to retain some heat always. The air at a temperature of minus 18 degrees contains 85% of the heat as it would have contained at a temperature of 21 degrees.
