They call it “the Extraordinary Escape” for a  reason – In Eureka Springs you can escape the city and experience a real adventure beginning with where you will stay.  You can stay in a Haunted hotel, a Hobbit cave or even a treehouse with a private outdoor shower.   Once you have your lodging arranged, there is no shortage of things to do in Eureka Springs and many of the fun adventurous things are free or almost free.

You can track down all of the Natural springs that made the town famous – or visit the awe-inspiring Thorncrown Chapel in the Beautiful Arkansas Woods.  You can Hike around the beautiful Lake Leatherwood park.

There are wonderful attractions that are great for the whole family like the turpentine Creek wildlife refuge and the Promised land zoo.   For couples wanting a romantic weekend escape – you might stay in one of the tree house cabins and start your escape with a massage at the New Moon Spa – then  eat at one of the fantastic restaurants like the Bavarian Inn , and then finish the night off with an evening of Mystery at Intrigue Theater with the Illusionist & the Ghost Talker.

The next day if you are feeling adventurous you can explore Onyx Cave Park or Cosmic Caverns  – which are two of the amazing caves of Eureka Springs.   If the weather is nice can go swimming in the beautifully clear Beaver lake or go hiking around Lake Leatherwood.

If you are traveling to town for the unique preserved landscape of bygone times – you will enjoy exploring places like the Quigley castle or America’s Most haunted hotel – the Crescent Hotel.

Finding all the natural Springs! – The Springs that made the town famous and in its heyday – they were heralded as have healing powers and the population of the town exploded to 10,000 making it the4th largest city in Arkansas.   You will need a car to see them all – we suggest going to the Visitors Center (579 W Van Buren, Eureka Springs, AR 72632 ) and getting a map – some of the MUST SEE SPRINGS ARE  – Laundry springs, Magnetic Springs and the best one of all GROTTO SPRING.

For just a buck and a healthy hike up what will seem like an endless stairway to heaven – you will
get an amazing view of the Ozark mountains.  – Warning not for the faint of heart.
